The depression on the both side below the knee cap look like nostrils of a calf and the point is at the external foramen.

Location:

Bend the knee, at the lower border of the knee cap, in the depression lateral to the patellar ligament.

Indication:

For diseases of the knee joint and the soft tissues.

Method:

  • With the knee flexed and supported by a rolled pillow:
  • Perpendicular insertion, directed towards BL40, 1 to 2 cun;
  • Oblique insertion in a medial and superior direction, behind the patella 1 to 2 cun,
  • Behind the patellar ligament to join with medial Xiyan.

Remarks:

Good for knee disorders.
