Location:
On the shoulder, posterior to Jianyu(LI15), when the arm abducted, in the depression posterior and inferior to the acromion.
Functions:
- Dispels wind and damp (in channel/joint, shoulder disorders).
- Invigorates Qi, Blood and relieves pain (for shoulder trauma, rotator cuff syndrome, Bi disorders).
Indications of jianliao:
- Jianliao is main point for shoulder disorders. It is good for arthritis of shoulder joint, pain in the local area, heaviness of the shoulder with inability to raise the arm.
- Also good for motor impairment of shoulder and upper arm.
- Pain in the hypochondriac region.
Method:
Puncture perpendicularly 1-1.5 cun toward the shoulder joint.
