Location :

On the upper aspect of the shoulder, in the depression medial to the acromion process and between the lateral extremity of the clavicle and the scapular spine.

Functions :

Courses channel and connecting vessels.

Indications of Jugu :

Local problems: pain and motor impairment of the upper extremities, pain in the shoulder and back.

Method :

Perpendicular or oblique (lateral) insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.

Remarks :

Crossing point of Yang-qiao vessel

Precautions :

Avoid deep medial puncturing particularly in thin patients as deep medial insertion carries a risk of causing pneumothorax.
