Sanyinjiao is an intersecting point of spleen, liver and kidney meridian.

English Name/Meaning: Three Yin Intersection

Location:
3 cun above the tip of the medial malleolus, on the posterior border of the medial aspect of the tibia.
Indication:
- Sanyinjiao is main point for gastro-intestinal diseases, such as abdominal pain abdominal distension, borborygmus, diarrhea, often used with ZuSanli.
- Also benefits diseases of urinary system, such as retention of urine, edema, enuresis, etc.
- Also good for diseases of genital system, such as impotence, spermatorrhea, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, vaginal discharge, etc.
- Insomnia, dizziness.
- Atrophy and paralysis of the legs, beriberi.
Method:
Puncture perpendicularly 1-1.5 cun.
Remarks:
Crossing point of the Channels of Spleen, Liver and Kidney meridian.
Precautions:
Contraindicated for pregnant women.
