Sanyinjiao is an intersecting point of spleen, liver and kidney meridian.

English Name/Meaning: Three Yin Intersection
Pinyin: sān yīn jiāo
Han Geul 한글: sam eum gyo 삼음교
Romaji: san in kō
Vietnamese: Tam âm giao

Location:

3 cun above the tip of the medial malleolus, on the posterior border of the medial aspect of the tibia.

Indication:

  • Sanyinjiao is main point for gastro-intestinal diseases, such as abdominal pain abdominal distension, borborygmus, diarrhea, often used with ZuSanli.
  • Also benefits diseases of urinary system, such as retention of urine, edema, enuresis, etc.
  • Also good for diseases of genital system, such as impotence, spermatorrhea, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, vaginal discharge, etc.
  • Insomnia, dizziness.
  • Atrophy and paralysis of the legs, beriberi.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 1-1.5 cun.

Remarks:

Crossing point of the Channels of Spleen, Liver and Kidney meridian.

Precautions:

Contraindicated for pregnant women.
