Shuaigu lies in the temporal region, in the slight depression 1.5 cun directly above the apex of the ear.

Functions of Shuaigu:

  • Subdues Liver yang in the head.
  • Subdues the rebellion of the stomach Qi caused by liver or gallbladder.
  • Dispels wind and invigorates pain.
  • Stops spasm and pain.
  • Benefits ear.


  • Digestive disorders: Nausea, fullness in stomach, poor appetite.
  • Mental problems : infantile convulsions.
  • Headache, heavyness of head, migraine, dizziness, vertigo.
  • Ear problem: tinnitus, deafness.
  • Scalp Acupuncture: MS11 Posterior temporal line.
