Tongziliao is in a foramen lateral to the outer canthus and on a level with the pupil.

Location:
Beside the outer canthus, in the depression on the lateral side of the orbital margin.
Functions of tongziliao:
- Eliminate wind and heat (Both external : painful, red itchy eyes, dry eyes, burning eyes).
- Clears channel and invigorates the collaterals (Headache behind eyes, eye pain, migraines).
- Benefits eye/vision.
Indications:
- Tongziliao is good for painful and eyes, cataracts, poor vision, night blindness, cloudiness of cornea ( optic neuritis, retinitis, retinal atrophy).
- Also useful in headache, migraine, deviation of the mouth and eye.
Method:
Puncture transversely 0.3-0.5 cun.
Prick with three-edged needle to induce bleeding.
Remark:
Entry point.
Crossing Point of Small Intestine, Triple energizer and Gall Bladder.
Precautions:
Not applicable for moxibustion.
