Yangjiao GB35: Nomenclature, Location, Functions, Indications

Yangjiao is at the lateral aspect  of the leg, where it crosses the bladder meridian.

The lateral is Yang. Yangjiao is at the lateral aspect of the leg, where it crosses the bladder meridian.

Location:

7 cun above the tip of the external mallelous, on the posterior border of the fibula.

Functions of  yangjiao:

  • Removes channel obstruction.
  • Treats atrophy syndrome.

Indications:

  • Fullness of the chest and hypochondriac region, muscular atrophy and paralysis of the leg.
  • Pain swelling and weakness in the knee.

Method:

Perpendicular insertion 1 to 1.5 cun.

Remarks:

  • Xi-cleft point of Yang wei vessel.
  • Crossing point of Yang wei vessel.
