Nomenclature:
Yang: to support Lao:old people
Yanglao is good for treating geriatric disease such as blurring of vision, deafness, lumbago, shoulder pain .etc.
Point: SI-6
Chinese Name: 养老
English Name/Meaning: Support the Aged
Pinyin: yǎng lǎo

Location:
When hand is placed on the chest, this point is located on the dorsal aspect of the head of the ulna, in a cleft level with and to the radial side of the high point of the styloid process of the ulna.
Indications of Yanglao:
- Point yanglao is good for the problems along SI channel – eyes (blurred vision, poor vision), shoulder, elbow, wrist.
- Since yanglao is a xi-cleft point, so is beneficial for acute pain like pain of the shoulder, scapula and arm that is so severe that it feels as if they are broken or dislocated; distal point for acute contraction and sprain of the lumbar region.
- Also connects to eyes so this is beneficial for eyes problems like blurred vision, cataract, glaucoma.
- Also used as Ashi point.
Method:
When the palm of the hand is placed on the chest, insert obliquely towards the elbow 0.5-0.8cun
