Nomenclature:
Yang : Yang of yin Xi: Brook
Yang refers to the ayng meridain. This point is a depression like a brook in the mountains.
Location:
This point is located on the radial side of the transverse crease of the wrist, in the depression between the tendons of m. extensor pollicis longus and brevis (anatomical snuffbox).
Method:
Puncture perpendicularly 0.3-0.5cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.
Indication
This point clears heat along large intestine channel so used for nose bleeding, allergies due to wind heat, ear problems (excess type), eye disorders, tooth sore, throat sore, headache (Yangming headache).
Also clears yangming fire which transmits to Heart and spirit so is used in various psychosocial problems like agitation and oppression of chest, insomnia, insomnia, irritability and hallucinations.
This point is also used to help stop smoking along with combination with ear points.
Cough and syspnea, chills and fever, fever without sweating.
Local problems like wrist pain, muscular atrophy.
