Yin: yin of Yin-Yang Lian: edge
Yin here means “medial”. Yinlian is on the medial aspect of the thigh, near the genitalia.

Location:
2 cun directly below ST30, at the proximal end of thigh, below the pubic tubercle and on the lateral border of m. abductor longus.
Functions:
- Relax sinew and invigorates channel (opens lower jiao-for circulation of Qi and Blood).
- Regulates chong and Ren Mai.
Indications:
- Irregular menstruation, leukorrhea, lower abdominal pain, pain in the thigh and leg.
- Local disorder: pain in the thigh.
Method:
Perpendicular or oblique insertion 0.5 to 1.5 cun.
