Yuji LU10 : Nomenclature, Location, Function, Indication



Yu: fish ji:border
Yuji is now used as an anatomical word. The musculi flexor policis in the palm are prominent like a fish, the point is located just on its border.


This point is located on the thenar eminence of the hand, in the depression between midpoint of the shaft of 1st metacarpal bone, on the junction of the red and white skin.


Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun.


Respiratory disorder: cough , asthma, shortness of breathe, nasal obstruction. Clears heat from the lung channel especially in case of coughing accompanied by bleeding. Also clears heat transmitted from the lung to the stomach in middle jiao and the heart in the upper jiao.
Mastitis: Ancients recommend 27 units of moxa to treat mastitis.
Other disorder: swelling and pain in throat, fever.

Dr. Ishwar Gyawali is Consultant Acupuncturist and Ayurveda Physician from Kathmandu, Nepal. He had completed BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery), a five and half year course on Ayurveda Medicine from Kirtipur Campus affiliated to Tribhuvan University ,Institute Of Medicine, Nepal under scholarship in 2011. He had completed his MD in TCM from Nanjing University Of Chinese Medicine in 2016 under scholarship of Ministry of Education, Nepal. He is a registered Doctor in NAMC (Nepal Ayurveda Medical Council ) both as a physician as well as TCM/Acupuncture Specialist.
