Functions of Yishe:
- Clears and drains damp heat.
- Tonifies the spleen.
- Benefits intellect.
- Stimulates memorization and concerntration.
Indications:
- Poor memory and concentration, Obsessive thoughts.
- Abdominal distension, borborygmus, vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty in swallowing, sensation of heat, jaundice.
Method:
Oblique insertion towards lateral 0.3 to 0.5 cun.
Remarks:
Good for intellectual issues due to spleen.
Precautions:
Deep perpendicular or needling in a wrong direction carries a substantial risk of causing a pneumothorax.
