Functions and indications of burong:
Regulates the center (middle jiao .i.e. spleen and stomach) and harmonizes the stomach. So is beneficial in gastrointestinal disorders like abdominal distension, vomiting, gastric pain, anorexia.
Method:
Perpendicular insertion 0.5-0.8 cun.
Precautions:
Deep insertion may injure the heart on the left or the liver on the right if either of these organs is enlarged.
