Burong is on the upper abdomen, it indicates that level of the point is the limit of where the stomach receives water and food.

On the abdomen, 6 cun above the umbilicus, 2 cun lateral to Juque (REN14).
On the abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the midline and 6 cun superior to the umbilicus.

Functions and indications of burong:

Regulates the center (middle jiao .i.e. spleen and stomach) and harmonizes the stomach. So is beneficial in gastrointestinal disorders like abdominal distension, vomiting, gastric pain, anorexia.


Perpendicular insertion 0.5-0.8 cun.


Deep insertion may injure the heart on the left or the liver on the right if either of these organs is enlarged.
