Inhaled air is stored in the lungs as if in a storehiuse, going downwards as if from a door into a side room.

English Name/Meaning: Storehouse

In the first intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Functions and indications of kufang:

Regulates lung and qi of the chest so is beneficial in sensation of fullness and pain in the chest, cough.


Puncture obliquely0.3-0.5 cun.


Oblique insertion only.


Deep or perpendicular insertion carries a substantial risk of puncturing the lung.
