Location:

In the first intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

Functions and indications of kufang:

Regulates lung and qi of the chest so is beneficial in sensation of fullness and pain in the chest, cough.

Method:

Puncture obliquely0.3-0.5 cun.

Remarks:

Oblique insertion only.

Precautions:

Deep or perpendicular insertion carries a substantial risk of puncturing the lung.
