Nomenclature:

Tong: Leading to         Li: Interior
From this point the collateral of this meridian branches to the small intestine meridian.

Location:

On the palmar aspect of the forearm, on the radial border of the tendon of m. flexor carpi ulnaris, 1 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist.

Indications of tongli:

  • Heart luo-connecting channel ascends to the root of the tongue so is used in sudden loss of voice, stiffness of the tongue, inability to speak, ulcers of the tongue.
  • Psycho-emotional disorders: frequent yawning and groaning with sadness, vexation, and anger, sadness and fright, frequent agitation with burning sensation of the Heart, depressive disorder.
  • Regulates heart qi: Palpitations, tightness/fullness in the chest.
  • Local disorders: pain in the wrist and arm.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.3~0.5 cun or oblique proximal or distal insertion.

Luo Connecting Point.
