Nomenclature:

Xin: frontanel Hui: Closing
Xinhui is located where the anterior frontanel closes.

English name/meaning : Fontanelle Meeting
Chinese name: 囟會
Chinese pinyin : xìn huì
Korean name: sin hoe 신회
Japanese name: shin e(?)
Vietnamese name: Tín hội

Location:

Xinhui is located in the midline, 2 cu above the anterior hairline. OR 3 cun anterior to DU20/Baihui.

Method:

Insert transversely 0.5 cun t0 1 cun. Moxibustion can be done.

Indications:

  • This point dispels wind and calms the shen, so is used for various mental illness line anxiety, depression, epilepsy, infantile convulsion
  • Local disorders like headache, migraine, heaviness of head, poor concentration, poor memory, stiff neck, cloudy mind
  • Raises yang qi so, is useful for lethargy.
  • Also used in headache due to excess drinking of alcohol.

Remarks:

Be careful while needling in infants.

Precautions:

Do not be needled in infants whose fontanelle has not yet closed.
