Nomenclature:

Yin: Yin of yin-yang Bao: womb
Yin here means “interior”. Bao refers to the uterus. Yinbao is at the medial aspect of the thigh and is indicated in treating diseases of the uterus.

Functions and Indications of Yinbao:

  • Removes stagnant Liver Qi so is beneficial in reproductive disorders like irregular menstruation, excessive bleeding, painful menstruation, urinary system disorders, back pain.
  • Local disorders: lower limb pain, hemiplegia.

Method:

Perpendicular or oblique insertion 1-2 cun.
