Location:
On the abdomen, 1 cun above the umbilicus, 2 cun lateral to Shuifen (REN9).
On the abdomen, 2 cun lateral to the midline and 1 cun superior to the umbilicus.
Functions and indications of huaroumen:
- Tonifies spleen and harmonizes stomach so is beneficial in gastrointestinal disorders like gastric pain, bloating abdominal distension.
- Clears heart and quiets spirit. So, is beneficial in psycho-emotional problems like manic depression, agitation, and mad walking, epilepsy, tongue thrusting, anxiety focused both on the chest and abdomen, accompanied by palpitations, tightness of the chest, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Method:
Puncture perpendicularly 0.7 to 1 cun.
Precautions:
In thin subjects, deep needling may penetrate the peritoneal cavity.
