Qi refers to the Qi of the kidney. Qixue is beside Guanuan (CV4) , like a cave where the kidney Qi is stored.

Location:

3 cun below the umbilicus, 0.5 cun lateral to Guanyuan (REN4).

Functions:

Regulates Conception and governor vessel and supplies Kidney qi and circulates fluid.

Indications:

Irregular menstruation, Dysmenorrhoea, Dysuria, Abdominal pain, Diarrhoea.

Method:

Perpendicular insertion 0.5 to 1 cun.

Remarks:

Meeting point of Kidney and Chong Vessel.

Precautions:

  • Avoid deep needling, to prevent urinary bladder injury when full.
  • Avoid in Pregnancy.
