Nomenclature:

Shou: Hand San:Three Li: Taken as cun in ancient times.
Shousanli LI10 is located on the forearm, with the arm stretched, the point is 3 cun below Quchi (LI11).

Location:

The point is located on th radial side of the forearm on the line linking the Yangxi(LI5) and Quchi(LI11) points, 2 cun below the cubital crease.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.

Indications of Shousanli:

  • This point is used to tonify qi and blood in combination with Zusanli (St36) which helps to increase in blood count msotly WBC.
  • Also moves qi and blood  so used in tennis elbow , acute lumbar strain caused due to qi and blood stagnation.
  • Also used in Paralysis of the forearm,pain and numbness in the elbow and arm; toothache, swollen cheek;abdominal pain, diarrhea.
