Location:

With the arm abducted and parallel to the ground, at the upper border of the deltoid muscle, in the inferior anterior depression of the shoulder (anterior border of the acromion).

Method：

Puncture perpendicularly downward.
Puncture obliquely upward, forming a 50 degree angle with the skin.
Perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 cun.
Moxibustion is applicable.

Indications of Jianyu：

Jianyu is used for pain and numbness in the upper arm and shoulder, frozen shoulder, impaired movement of the arm; motor impairment of upper extremities.
Scrofula.

Remark:

Main point for shoulder disease.

Precaution:

Avoid deep puncturing since apex of the lung can be injured.
Be careful in patients of COPD.
