Tianfu -LU3

Nomenclature:

tian: heaven fu: palace
In term tianfu, Tian means heaven and Fu means palace. So this point is located on the upper upper arm , which is a confluence of the Qi of the lung.

Location:

This point is located inferior to the axillary fold and 6 cum superior to LU 5 (Chize ) , in the depression between the lateral border of the biceps brachii muscle and the shaft of the humerus.

Method:

Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-1 cun .

Indication:

Respiratory disorder: cough ,wheezing, orthopnoea, asthma, shortness of breathe
Bleeding disorders: Epistaxis, bleeding from mouth
Throat disorder:  Goiter, scrofula, throat disorder
Local disorder: shoulder pain, stiffness

Remark:

Precaution:

Contraindcated for moxibustion.
