Zhongchong PC9 : Nomenclature, Location, Function, Indication

Nomenclature:
Zhong: middle Chong: Gushing
Zhongchong is at the tip of the middle finger and is the Jing-well point of the pericardium meridian. where the Qi of the meridian originates and gushes upward along the meridian.
Location:
In the center of the tip of the middle finger.
Functions:
- Clears heart and eliminates heat (heart fire).
- Opens portals and resuscitates (revive yang, acute phase of wind stroke, revives consciousness).
Indications:
- Zhongchong is important point for stroke and coma, sunstroke, syncope, febrile disease.
- Cardiac disorders: Cardiac pain.
- Infantile convulsion.
Method:
Puncture shallowly 0.1 cun or prick with three-edged needle to induce bleeding.
